Hemp seed protein powder is an ideal vegetable protein source with around 50% complete, gluten free protein.
Proteins are considered complete when they contain all the amino acids in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of the human body. Hemp protein contains all 21 known amino acids, including the 8 essential amino acids, which the grown-up human body cannot manufacture itself.
65% of the total protein content in hemp seeds is the globular protein edestin, which is very much similar to the globulin in the human blood plasma. Edestin is easy to digest, easy to absorb and vital to maintaining a healthy immune system. Edestin also has the unique ability to stimulate the manufacture of antibodies.
Proteins are potential allergens. Soy and dairy products are known to cause allergies. However, no hemp seed allergies have been reported so far.
In contrast to other protein powders, hemp protein powder has a rich content of essential fatty acids omega 6 and omega 3 in the ideal 3:1 ratio for the assimilation by the human body.
Many protein powder isolates or extracts of vegetable origin are obtained using solvents, which have a negative impact on the environment and on human health. What is the amino acid profile for the protein powder? In the articles regarding nutrition on this website, the amino acid profile is specified only for the seeds, but not for the hemp derivatives.

the amino acid profile for the hemp protein powder is prcentually the same as for the whole hemp seeds. The net amount in g is larger in the protein powder than in the whole seeds because the total protein content of the powder is around 50% and in the whole seeds this is around 25%.
